I am 58 years old and lost my job and became disabled due to multiple sclerosis three years ago. Surviving the cost of this disease is costing my husband and I everything. Medical bills, pharmacy costs, etc are overwhelming. I had found great assistance programs for my medicine and then the government came up with Medicare Part D - with large co-pays in the original months, a $3,600.00 donut-hole (almost impossible to handle). We have both gone without dental care since I lost my job and insurance. My husband is 63, receives Social Security but does not qualify for Medicare. He has bad teeth and poor vision. Our money goes to keeping me somewhat functional and there is nothing left for his vision and dental care. I also have not been to a dentist in the last three years and really need to go. Fortunately, my vision is good. Because I had a relatively high paying job before becoming disabled, we do not qualify for Medicaid because my SSDI benefits are too high. I know there must be some programs out there, but all my Internet searching seems to be in vain. If anyone can offer any helpful information, please e-mail me at crandellpatti@stny.rr.com. Please, don't send any crap or just sympathy e-mails. I appreciate you sympathy, but really need help. Depression is a major problem and fatique from MS makes my research time limited. I'm really sorry this sight was destroyed by the crapmongers since so many people like me really need help.
